We are all students at the Msc Business Creation and Entrepreneurship program at Tromsø University Business School, graduating spring 2011. We come from diverse backgrounds and all corners of the world.



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A short presentation of us and our roles in BCE Impulse (click names for each person)

Tage Skotvold - Norway

Tage is from Levanger in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. Tage has previously got half a degree in Informatics, one bacholor degree in music technology and a master in music technology from the U.K. After his studies there he worked in a variety of fields, mainly marketing, sales and recruitment he later on started up his own web design business in London. Having now left the U.K. and gone back to live in Norway and the great city of Tromsø - he enjoys the BCE program, working for a start-up company on the side. On his spare time Tage likes to engage in all things innovative and technical and he also likes exercising in the fantastic nature of Tromsø.

 

Tage's main role in BCE Impulse is chairman of the board, website, on-site technical and overall project planning.


Mari Nilsen - Norway

Mari is from Tromsø and has a Fisheries Candidate degree. After working for a couple of years she excitedly went back to university to start her second master’s degree, the BCE programme. At the age of 11 she went on a summer camp with children from around the world and that was when her interest for other cultures evolved. She joined BCE Impulse with a dream of making a difference and learning about project work, social entrepreneurship and Kenya.

 

Mari's main role in BCE Impulse is vice chairman of the board, media contact, fundraising activities.


John Fredrik Solberg - Norway

 

John-Fredrik

John-Fredrik came to Tromsø  from Bergen in 2006, to study fishery science at UiT after working as a trained waiter in Bergen and Edinburgh. After a short time in the city he fell in love with the mountains and a local girl. While finishing his bachelor he settled in the city with his own small family of three, including a son from late 2008. The mountains are being used on a regular basis for skiing in the winter, and fishing and hiking in the summer.

 

He joined the BCE program in 2009, because that seemed like a good way to utilise the interest in both bioscience and economy. He aspires to take part in making of Tromsø as a sustainable hub for bioscience and –prospecting.

 

In BCE Impulse he will use his earlier organisational experience from different student organisation to develop sustainability in Africa and for the brand, through his work as Treasurer and fundraiser activity organiser.


Panida Phusapan - Thailand

Making people happy is my full-time job. Giving a smile, cheering them up, and being there for them are my top priorities. I was born and grew up in Bangkok, with aspirations ranging from teacher to air crew to artist to world traveler. And I would say that I was lucky enough to have done much of them all. But the best thing I'm looking forward to is to create a positive difference in people's lives as well as making it sustainable for them. This is why joining BCE Impulse project is a great deal for me. It frees my imagination and allows me to work on fulfilling my dream. It connects the world together and transforms the dreams into realities.

 

Panida's role in BCE Impulse is to take care of travel and stay in Kenya. She is also part of the on-site activities and courses group. Panida is on the board of BCE Impulse.


Päivi Salminen - Finland

Päivi has a Bachelor's degree in International Trade from Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences. After graduation she has gained work experience in several temporary positions in SMEs in Finland, and in an EU institution in Brussels.

 

In 2008 Päivi moved to Tromsø, and in autumn 2009 she started to study in the BCE Master programme in the university of Tromsø. Päivi loves music, traveling and the fresh air of north. She joined the BCE Impulse social entrepreneurship, because she believes she can give something to the project and she can also learn a lot from it.

 

Päivi's role in BCE Impulse is to take care of travel and stay in Kenya. She is also part of the on-site activities and courses group. Päivi is on the board of BCE Impulse


Linda Christiane Aguilera Sicilia - Mexico

Linda is from Guadalajara, Mexico. She studied her bachelor degree on International Business at Tec de Monterrey (ITESM), campus Guadalajara. She did her professional internship in JALTRADE the Jalisco’s government International Trade office. She has worked on different areas as marketing and financing consultant and as a customer service representative in a commercialization company.  Also she has been involved in small communitarian services at her community. She was interested in having a superior education in entrepreneurship and she decided to come to Tromsø to study the BCE master’s programme. Now she is part of the social entrepreneurship project called BCE Impulse.

 

Linda's role in BCE Impulse is to take care of travel and stay in Kenya. She is also part of the on-site activities and courses group. Linda is on the board of BCE Impulse.


Marsil Andjelov Al-Mahamid - Serbia

Marsil

Marsil Andjelov Al-Mahamid comes from Serbia, where he has completed degrees at the Technical Academy for Industrial Management, and the University of Industrial Management. Led by his vision to one day become an Entrepreneur he came to the University of Tromsø. His interest in sport, art and a healthy lifestyle makes his everyday life dynamic and challenging. Marsil has a career of supporting humanitarian and other social institutions and is volunteering in Save the Children Tromsø and the BCE Impulse social entrepreneurship organization.

 

Marsil's main role in BCE Impulse is logistics and the overall project planning. He's also on the board of the organization.
